our vision

Where we are going.

O God, with all our hearts we long to be a church transformed by Christ, transforming Metro Vancouver, Canada, and the world.

We grow closer to God through prayer and a supportive church family. As His grace changes us, we work together to bring hope to our neighbors and beyond.

Our Values

What We Stand For.

Christ-Centered | Spirit-Empowered | Mission-Focused

At New Life Alliance, we are defined by our devotion to Jesus and our reliance on His strength. These three core values shape our culture, helping us grow together in grace while keeping our eyes fixed on the mission God has set before us.

Our Purpose

Why We Exist.

We exist to glorify God by being intentional followers of Jesus Christ through leading people to His saving grace, helping them grow in maturity, training them to use their gifts for the service, and sending them to go to all nations.

Our mission is deep-seated in the Great Commission. From our local neighborhoods to the ends of the earth, we are focused on making disciples who love God, serve people, and carry the light of Christ wherever they go.

THE New Life Alliance Church Story

A CHURCH BUILT ON FAITH,
Driven by Mission

“He remembers His covenant forever, the promise He made, for a thousand generations.” (1 Chronicles 16:15, NIV)

New Life Alliance Church is located in the beautiful city of West Vancouver, British Columbia. Since its inception, the church has rented the public recreation facilities in different locations across North Vancouver for worship gatherings, training, discipleship classes, leadership meetings and other events. The church was founded by first-generation Filipinos. Over the years, different nationalities became members of the church community including Iranian, African, Chinese, Belizean and Chilean.

In 1992, Pastor Ric Habacon was requested to conduct a home Bible study where eight Filipino ladies were in attendance. During these meetings, the Holy Spirit made a great manifestation in achieving a shared Biblical mission that led to the formation of North Vancouver Filipino Alliance Church (later to be called New Life Alliance Church).

The advancement of the work became more evident as the small group persevered and met together to offer praise and worship to God on Sundays, prayer meetings on Wednesdays, and Bible study and discipleship groups on different days of the week. Soon after, more people were encouraged to join the ministry. Pastor Ric, along with his wife and children, together with the eight ladies, made the necessary sacrifices in planting the seeds and preparing the way for the church work to continue.

The Foundations (1996–2004) In 1996, New Life Alliance Church (NLAC) began a new chapter as Pastor Patrick Loo took the lead of a small fellowship of fewer than forty people. This era focused on deep roots; the church adopted the Discovery Series teaching materials, which became the foundational discipleship tool for nearly every member. Despite a leadership challenge in 1997 that resulted in the departure of several members, the small congregation "soldiered on," remaining dedicated to Sunday School, prayer meetings, and weekly Bible studies.

Growth and Transition (2004–2014) In May 2004, Pastor Cres Casimong was called as Senior Pastor. This season was marked by a vibrant community life, celebrated through many baptisms, dedications, and weddings. The church continued to prioritize pastoral growth, supporting Pastor Cres as he earned his Master of Divinity in 2014. That same year, the staff expanded with the addition of Pastor Ben Pantoja.

Transformation and Global Reach (2015–Present) The year 2015 marked a pivotal shift toward relational and transformational discipleship. The church approved new bylaws and launched the Equip To Serve (ETS) program, which has since empowered members to lead their own groups. Today, NLAC operates nineteen active ministries and has embraced a clear vision of Transformation (Romans 12:1-2) and a mission of Disciples Making Disciples (Matthew 28:18-20).

True to our Alliance heritage, we have expanded our reach beyond Metro Vancouver. Since our first mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2015, our members have served in El Salvador, Thailand, and Burkina Faso. Through every season, we stand on the promise of Matthew 16:18: “I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

The purpose of New Life Alliance Church is to glorify God; the business of the church is disciple-making; and the values are the development of the abilities and the experiences gained in “Leading people to His saving Grace, Helping them Grow into maturity, Training them to use their Gifts for service and Sending them to Go to all nations.”

At NLAC, the youth and the young adults are referred to as the NOW generation. In other words, the young people, the church’s next generation of leaders, are the present future. For this reason, the church will embark on the next step of establishing a ten-year strategic plan with the focus on the areas of church health and growth, the planting, church building, and the NOW generation. The NOW generation provides hope and optimism that NLAC will continue to obey and fulfill the Great Commission in making disciples who can make disciples.
